At Kasa Esmeralda we take care of the information of everyone who visits this site and everyone who stays at Casa Esmeralda, Caletas. This page explains what data is collected, what it's used for, and how you can exercise your rights.
1. Who we are
Kasa Esmeralda is the small group of vacation homes that Casa Esmeralda, Caletas, belongs to. The apartment is in the Mar a Mar condominium in Villa Caletas, Garabito, Puntarenas, Costa Rica. We're Luisa and Mauricio, your hosts. You can reach us on WhatsApp at +506 8384 1729.
2. What this site collects
- This site has no forms that send us information, uses no cookies, and runs no analytics or advertising tools.
- The dates and guests picker works only in your browser. It builds the Airbnb link or the WhatsApp message, and nothing reaches us until you choose to send it.
- Fonts, images, videos and scripts all load from this site, with no third-party services.
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may log technical data about visits, such as IP address and browser type, to run and protect the service.
3. If you message us on WhatsApp
We receive your name and number as they appear on WhatsApp, plus whatever you write to us, such as dates, number of guests and questions. We use it only to reply, manage your booking and coordinate your stay. WhatsApp is a Meta service with its own privacy policy.
4. If you book on Airbnb
Booking and payment happen on Airbnb and are covered by Airbnb's privacy policy. As hosts, we receive the details Airbnb shares with us to manage your stay.
5. Who we share your data with
We don't sell your data or use it for advertising. We only share it when it's needed for your stay or when the law requires it.
6. Links to other sites
This site links to Airbnb, WhatsApp, Google Maps and Waze. Once you open them, each service's own privacy policy applies.
7. Your rights
Under Costa Rica's Law 8968 on the Protection of Personal Data, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your data. Just message us on WhatsApp at +506 8384 1729.
8. Changes
If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with its date.
